dc.description.abstract"The central themes of the plan refer to the relations between classical philosophical anthropology (mainly of Plato, Aristotle, and St. Thomas Aquinas), and some currents of contemporary psychology that have been dealing with deep philosophical questions, such as happiness and the so-called meaningful life. On the one hand, the work aims at evaluating the content of the underlying themes, for example, the relationship between classical passions and the emotions of contemporary thought, or the description of character and virtues. On the other hand, the philosophical assumptions of both treatments are analyzed, and from this, we try to understand the scope of the different cognitive approaches. A fundamental point of the work is the connection between these epistemological aspects and the applications for the promotion of the good life. There is a number of relevant psychological practices that have surpassed the therapeutic arena and had permeated work environments, education and family life. In this line, the work of connection between classical thinking, its cognitive and educational potentialities, and the renewal that can be done thanks to practices derived from psychology that enhance the good dispositions to act well are developed".en_US
