dc.description.abstract"The Catholic Christian Meta-Model of the Person (CCMMP) is a synthesis of theology, philosophy, and the psychological sciences in a coherent framework for understanding the person, family, and society. Over the past two decades, a multi-disciplinary group of scholars, researchers, and clinicians has elaborated this framework for a Christian understanding of the person, relevant to many disciplines, but focused on the field of mental health practice. A thorough presentation of the Meta-Model and its applications has recently been published in the book, A Catholic Christian Meta-Model of the Person: Implications for Psychology and Mental Health Practice (Vitz, Nordling, & Titus, 2020). This explanatory document presents the Meta-Model, as developed in this book, in a way consistent with the Expanded Reason Award requirements. Part I presents the Meta-Model’s vision of the person (anthropology). Part II presents the Model’s underlying multi-disciplinary methodology (epistemology). Part III presents the Model’s approach to human moral agency and flourishing (ethics). Part IV presents its approach to the significance of vocations and virtues (meaning). Part V presents how the Model integrates with and brings benefit to mental health practice, including case conceptualization, professional ethics, and professional training (synthesis)."en_US
